Cat Scratch Fever is not a contagious infection and it cannot be spread from person to person, most people will not become very ill. This infection can be more serious with people who have poor immune systems.

It is not necessary that a chid get infected with Cat Scratch Fever only when bitten or scratch by cat because the bacteria associated with this infection is also present on cat fur, so one get infected from petting a cat and then rubbing their eyes.

Some cases are reported in which people of same family get infected but this in very unlikely that they get infected from infected person but it is very likely that they all get infected from the same cat.

Having one episode of cat scratch disease usually makes people immune for the rest of their lives.
