  • Kittens are more likely to carry Bartonella henselae than adult's cats.

  • Cat Scratch Fever is not a contagious infection and it cannot be spread from person to person.

  • Don't allow your child to play with stray cats.
 
   
 


  • Make sure your pet cat doesn't have fleas.

  • If your child is bitten or scratched by a kitten or cat, clean cat scratches and bites with soap and water straight away and look out for any sign of Cat Scratch Fever in next two weeks.

  • If your child has poor immune system, then Cat Scratch Fever can be a much more severe infection for your child.

  • Kittens that are infected with Bartonella henselae are usually not sick and don't need to be treated.
