Symptoms of stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea that come on quickly and go away on their own are more likely to be caused by stomach flu or food poisoning, especially if other people around are also sick but one also needs to be vigilant of Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS.
This is a common digestive problem that causes episodes of abdominal pain, cramping or bloating, and diarrhea or constipation. The cause is not well understood - there are no physical signs of disease in the intestines and no specific tests that diagnose the condition - but symptoms often get worse with stress or after eating. IBS can persist for many years and does not lead to more serious diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease or cancer.
However, an episode may be milder or more severe than the one before it, but the disorder itself usually does not get worse over time. Stress management, diet changes, and in some cases medications are helpful in managing the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Brain Foods.
It is commonly stated that fish is "brain food" but what does this really mean? It appears there may be some association between the foods we eat and the power of our brain.
Just like the rest or our bodies, the brain reacts negatively to a constant intake of high-fat and junk foods and prefers to be nourished by a well-balanced diet.
Studies have documented the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids, commonly found in fatty fish, in lessening the damage wrought by dementia. One study showed that eating at least one fish meal per week may significantly lower the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
Fish is not the only food that has been linked to improved brainpower. There are also benefits to eating a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetable, whole grain, and fiber.
