Schwarze (which means black, in German) is a beautiful 15 years old house cat with bloodline mixed with a white angora, and is on of two cats Mueller brought from Germany when she moved to Dubai in 1993.
One day last December, when Schwarzer's curiosity led him to sneak out of the house and into the garden, Mueller's two dogs, who probably thought he was a stranger, chased him away.
"The ensuing week was the most agonizing one for me," Mueller says. "I was sick with worry. I could not eat, I could not sleep. I love him so much, and I was wondering how this cat - who had always been pampered at home, fed and therefore would not know how to hunt - could survive in the outside world. He was not used to vehicles or roads and he is very trusting and, I feared, he might fall into the hands of some cruel situation.
After first placing an advertisement in newspaper with promises of a financial rewards to the finder, Mueller went looking for her cat in the vicinity of her home for the following six days.
